8 Smart Curing Technology

Smart curing will adjust according to garment and cure in a two-step process of IR and hot air.

7 Automatic Unloading

The Automatic unloader removes the shirt from the pallet and places it on the dryer’s conveyor belt in the right lane.

2 Automatic Size Shifter

Based on the data retrieved, the pallet will change its size automatically

3 Automatic Loader

The operator hands the garment to the automatic loader that load the shirt onto the pallet. QC takes place

1 Scanner

A garment is scanned, and all the relevant details are retrieved (recipe: blank, color, size, quantity, and artwork)

4 Fixation Station

Pretreatment is applied. The amount of Fixa is customized for the specific blank, as it was scanned.

5 White Printing Station

White artwork is being printed. Apollo has 35 print heads, 15 white and 20 color.

6 Color Printing Unit

Color printing takes place. Each shirt travels through both printing stations, making the productivity the same for white and dark shirts.

What is the actual cost of the Kornit Apollo?

Apollo has the best productivity and requires the lowest labor in the DTG world, this brings the total cost of ownership of a single print to the lowest of all DTG solutions available in the market (ranges between $0.9-1.3 for a standard print), and makes it competitive to screen printing short runs.

How many operators are needed to run an Apollo?

Apollo’s automation modules take the load off your staff, allowing to focus solely on extending garments at the right pace. For that reason you need to allocate only one operator from your team run at a pace of up to 400 shirts per hour.

Will I be able to accept licensing jobs onto the Apollo?

Apollo’s embedded RIP engine has the ability to RIP PDF files, and identify spot colors and Pantones. Apollo will also be equipped with Qualiset, our machine vision, autonomous calibration system. With those capabilities at your hand, you can be confident in your color accuracy.

How many garments can I print per hour/day compared to screen printing?

Apollo prints at a productivity rate that is comparable to the one that can be expected from an Analog carrousel, i.e, 350-400 prints per hour, for a T-shirt with a print that is up to 12.4” (31.5 cm) wide. Prints that are wider than that are able to be printed, however the productivity is reduced. When considering a typical workday, that includes PM’s, non-standard prints and breaks, it is reasonable to expect an output of ranging from 270-330 prints per hours (this value can range more based on the garment types and print areas that you run)

Which substrates is the Apollo compatible with?

Apollo is geared towards cotton and cotton-rich blends. Apollo incorporates the MAX printing technology (same ink chemistry) and as such, has a wide working window that is suitable for a range of garments. We will be happy to provide you a printed sample on your own blanks.

When combining this with the Qualiset autonomous calibration system, it yields accuracy and consistency. We will be happy to provide you with sample of your own designs. All of Kornit’s solutions incorporate our patented in-line “wet on wet” technology, meaning that no extra steps are required when printing. Once you load a shirt on the system, all necessary subsequent steps will be performed seamlessly and automatically on the system.

Can I Integrate the Apollo with my existing equipment?

Apollo is an industrial solution, meant to complement a fleet of analog carrousels. Imagine a world in which you have a cost-effective solution that takes care of all of your jobs that are several hundred copies long, leaving your analog carrousels fully available to plow through your several thousands copies jobs. Your site capacity will soar! We will be happy to create with you a custom capacity model, based on your input parameters.

Is the Apollo dryer energy efficient?

Apollo’s dryer is using a hybrid curing technology that incorporates IR and hot air. The results is dryer that consumes 50% less energy of conventional dryers.

How much training is needed to operate and maintain an industrial DTG machine? How different is it from screen printing?

Apollo makes the training short and easy, since our Smart Production takes care of all of the technical know how that is needed to operate the system. Your operator can focus on loading and nothing more, making the training process very quick. When you add an Apollo to your fleet, we offer full training packages that bring your team up to speed with all of the technical tools that are needed to run the system on a daily basis. The process can takes 2-4 weeks, and includes all operation, applications and maintenance aspects.

Do I need to learn new software or adjust my existing design workflows for DTG?

Apollo has an embedded RIP with ability to operate with PDF files and identify workflow. During onboarding we will provide all training needed to operate the system. No more worries about separations and screen prep, loading a file to Apollo is a matter of several seconds.

What is the Application versatility of Apollo?

Apollo brings garment flexibility. You can print dark and light garments at the same record-breaking pace. You can print on cotton and cotton rich blends, on shirts, neck tags or hoodies (with or without pockets), and experience the vivid prints made possible by Kornit MAX technology.
